Hey,

I do use a root server with Ubuntu 14.04.1 (i7-3770, 32GB RAM, SATA-6G).

Installed first openjdk-7 (1.7.52??) now switched to oracle-jdk (first 8 now 7).

started with forge recommended start.sh and/or GC optimized batch.

minecraft-server 1.6.4

minecraft forge: forge-1.6.4-9.11.1.965-universal.jar

My Problem:

when starting the server, i do have one cpu core running on constantly 100% usage. And when using htop i can see that one of the process-threads are constantly running, other are sleeping.

When i create a new world, same happens, so it should not be a anchor or something...

Is it normal that 1 thread is running constantly even no one is connected?

I've never seen this before, or could not remember...

If this is not normal behaviour i can give more info.

Thanks for your cooperation!

The server still runs when no one is connected, keep that in mind. I don't know what mods you are running, but one of them is gobbling up CPU cycles. You'll need to find out what mod that is.

Read the EAQ before posting! OR ELSE!

This isn't building better software, its trying to grab a place in the commit list of a highly visible github project.

thanks luacs,

i installed a very fresh install of forge-server and after startup all threads went into SLEEP...

So this is the intended way...

after activating Mod after Mod (for the last 2 hours...) i found the Mod HDSAC going crazy....

So no forge related Problem! thanks for your help...
