I was wondering how you make a block burn and control the fire spread rate of a block you have added. In modloader it was along the lines of

((int[]) (ModLoader.getPrivateValue(BlockFire.class, Block.fire, 0)))[500] = 70;

in the load method, but that doesn't work in forge for obvious reasons. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this in FML?

Er, there may be a flag or something in the game registry.

So, what would happen if I did push that shiny red button over there? ... Really? ... Can I try it? ... Damn.

There are hooks in Forge for it and have been for quite a while, go take a look at BlockFire.. fairly logical place to start..

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

I was looking at blockfire late at night a while ago, must have missed something. I'm very new to forge and modding in general, and my java knowleadge isn't exacly as abundant as I'd like it to be.

EDIT: I've got it working, I was trying to make it part of public static final part of the block rather than putting it in the init section.
