Posted October 10, 201213 yr I was wondering how you make a block burn and control the fire spread rate of a block you have added. In modloader it was along the lines of ((int[]) (ModLoader.getPrivateValue(BlockFire.class, Block.fire, 0)))[500] = 70; in the load method, but that doesn't work in forge for obvious reasons. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this in FML?
October 10, 201213 yr Er, there may be a flag or something in the game registry. So, what would happen if I did push that shiny red button over there? ... Really? ... Can I try it? ... Damn.
October 11, 201213 yr There are hooks in Forge for it and have been for quite a while, go take a look at BlockFire.. fairly logical place to start.. I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
October 12, 201213 yr Author I was looking at blockfire late at night a while ago, must have missed something. I'm very new to forge and modding in general, and my java knowleadge isn't exacly as abundant as I'd like it to be. EDIT: I've got it working, I was trying to make it part of public static final part of the block rather than putting it in the init section.
