[1.7.10]Configuration manipulation

Alright, since I have gotten extremely and utterly confused on value manipulation with configs, I request (if possible) exact code snippets to:

1)Read value of a property for outputting or checking.

For example LogHelper.info(configvalue);

2)Set value of a property and then save configuration

3)Use Lists as properties in configuration.

Reason being I need List.contains function

My ConfigHandler

package com.creepysheep.magnet;

import cpw.mods.fml.common.registry.GameData;
import net.minecraft.util.RegistryNamespaced;
import net.minecraftforge.common.config.*;
import java.io.File;
import java.util.ArrayList;
import java.util.List;

public class ConfigHandler {

    public static Configuration config;
    public static final RegistryNamespaced itemRegistry = GameData.getItemRegistry();
    // Sections to add to the config
    public static String general = "General";

    // Options in the config
    public static boolean isEnabled;
    public static String[] itemsDisabled;
    public static List<String> potionsDisabled = new ArrayList<String>();
    public static String[] clothDisabled;
    public static String[] recordsDisabled;

    public static void init(File file) {
        config = new Configuration(file);
        syncConfig();
    }
    public static void syncConfig() {
        isEnabled = config.get(general, "isEnabled", true, "Is the mod enabled").getBoolean(isEnabled);
        itemsDisabled = config.get(general, "itemsDisabled", new String[] {"minecraft:diamond", "minecraft:arrow"}, "Restricted items").getStringList();
        //potionsDisabled = config.get(general, "itemsDisabled", new List<String>("minecraft:diamond", "minecraft:arrow"), "Restricted items");
        //itemsDisabled.add(new String ("test"));
        config.save();
    }
}

config.get("CATEGORY", "NAME", defaultValue).getXXX() ? Where XXX is a type

config.get("CATEGORY", "NAME", defaultValue).setXXX(newValue) ? Where XXX is a type

config.get("CATEGORY", "NAME", defaultValue).getXXX() ? Where XXX is an array type (StringArray, IntArray...)

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
