TileEntityCustomFurnace player.getDistanceSq((double): player cannot be resolved

I have tried to make a custom furnace for my mod using these tutorials:

the person who made the mod said I should make the next lines of code:

   @Override
   public boolean isUseableByPlayer(EntityPlayer p_70300_1_) {
      return this.worldObj.getTileEntity(this.xCoord, this.yCoord, this.zCoord) != this ? false : player.getDistanceSq((double) this.xCoord + 0.5D, (double) this.yCoord + 0.5D, (double) this.zCoord + 0.5D) <= 64.0D;
   }

but eclipse says that it cannot resolve player even though i did exactly what he did!

edit: I narrowed the mod down to only this error and it probebly makes my mod crash (I think) crash report:

http://pastebin.com/jzCEKSLN

what do i have to do to make it work?

Learn Java.

what is that supposed to mean other than i suck at it. I don't know what he did here i just copied EXACTLY what he did!!

The problem is that you copied it. You are never getting anywhere when copying things from other people. And you probably don't even know what that code does, right? And you are never getting anywhere in Minecraft modding if you don't know the most basic Java there is.

Don't PM me with questions. They will be ignored! Make a thread on the appropriate board for support.

your right! I watched the tutorial but I could not see what i did wrong. even with him explaining

I'll show you this mistake, but please do what they say and learn java.

@Override
public boolean isUseableByPlayer(EntityPlayer p_70300_1_) {
	return this.worldObj.getTileEntity(this.xCoord, this.yCoord, this.zCoord) != this ? false : player.getDistanceSq((double) this.xCoord + 0.5D, (double) this.yCoord + 0.5D, (double) this.zCoord + 0.5D) <= 64.0D;
}

Your variable is p_70300_1_ you are trying to refer to "player" which doesn't exist. You either want to change player to p_70300_1_ or p_70300_1_ to player.

If you can't spot these errors yourself, you have to stop modding now (!), learn Java, make a application yourself (no google) and then come back to modding.

Would have been nice if you linked the exact video you were watching.  I had to scan through two hours of footage looking for where he puts in that function.

What does he do right at 29:13?

You did everything he did, except that one thing right at 29:13

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

I might have missed that...

I might have missed that...

And important change.  And if you knew how to program Java, you'd have caught it on your own long before you went to post here.
