Posted April 26, 201510 yr Noob question: how do I allocate more ram to my mc(in eclipse)? I tried -Xmx4G -Xms4G under VM arguments, but still had massive lags... Here could be your advertisement!
April 26, 201510 yr Every game uses the CPU, GPU and RAM to perform tasks. Ram is like a train station holding information for the train which would be the game to call for it. The GPU renders all the graphic components on the client and, the CPU handles server type input such as block placement, entities and the sorts. I am not a cat. April 27, 201510 yr Author Yeah, I know how most electronic devices work. (Just finished my first custom Android 4.4 Rom ) I just wanted to make sure that I added the Argument in the right place. After some testing with normal modded MC and my debug tools it looks like my chunkgen+map Function has an infinity loop somewhere. THX for your answeres anyway! sry, my Android keyboard won't let me deactivate autocorrect. Pls ignore the mistakes. Here could be your advertisement!
April 28, 201510 yr If you press F3 while in game it will show you how much memory is being used. With 4G JVM arguments I'm normally using less than 30%, so you probably don't need more. But you can check with F3. Check out my tutorials here: http://jabelarminecraft.blogspot.com/
April 28, 201510 yr Author ah, thx. That made everything easier. Looks like I need more cpu to preload 40 000 chunks quicker. :,( Here could be your advertisement!
April 29, 201510 yr I don't think it will reduce lag much to go over 2G min and max in ram, if you only have 4g for ex you should set those at 1G
