1.4.4 MCP Setup - Installing Forge fails

Hi All,

I'm trying to install forge for my MCP on 1.4.4(it is updated, right?), I want to update my mod.

On 1.4.2 everything worked just fine, but now, when running install.SH (I'm on a Mac) I get this error:

As of now, I'm using the latest version of forge (6.3.0.372) and I also completely reinstalled MCP a couple of times, tried redownloading forge and so on.

I'm getting a fresh minecraft.jar by creating a clean instance in MultiMC, and the server.jar is also fresh from minecraft.net.

I know there are plenty of similar bug reports, I tried looking through all of them before posting, but none of the error-logs seem to have similar errors.

What version of python do you have installed? Seems like its screwed up somehow,a s that is valid python syntax/code.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

Well, I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.8, The Terminal says it's Python 2.6.1.

I'll look if there's an update available for my OS, update, and try it again

I updated Python to 3.3.0, It still doesn't work. Maybe I screwed up my computer

But I wonder why it worked in 1.4.2 then ?

Anyway, I'm going to try and do some standard repairing and cleaning out my hdd now, maybe there is just something wrong there.

Python 3.x is completely different to 2.x, you want the latest version of Python 2.

Protip: try and find answers yourself before asking on the forum.

It's pretty likely that there is an answer.

Oh, thats why... I was wondering why 3.3 wasn't showing in terminal...I changed it to 2.7.3, now it displays the correct version number.

And most important, Setting up Forge WORKED !!

How to add my mob to another mod's biome in 1.20.1.

You can add mob spawns using Forge's Biome Modifiers feature. I won't go into details on how to use a data generator for them, but here's a simple example:

How to change player renderer and transform model parts?

I have been trying for a while now to make a custom player renderer, and replace the vanilla player renderer with it. So far I've come up with a custom player renderer class that extends vanilla PlayerRenderer:

This logic isn't replacing the renderer, as far as I can tell. Can someone please advise as to why, and how to fix it?

How to add my mob to another mod's biome in 1.20.1.

I'm on 1.20.1 and was wondering if there was a way to add a mob I am going to make to a other mod's biome (Regions Unexplored in this case). I am trying to figure this out before I start coding the mod. Could someone point me to a good guide on this? I saw some things about biome modifier's but all the resources are either to short, unhelpful or for a different version. Thanks in advance. (i am a beginner but i have java and modding knowledge so this isn't like a "i am new and don't know anything about coding" problem btw)
