              for(int i = 0; i < icons.length; i++)

              {

                      icons = par1IconRegister.registerIcon(SamsMod.MODID + ":" + "key" + " " + name);

              }

    }

    @Override

    public IIcon getIconFromDamage(int par1)

    {

        return icons[par1];

    }

    @SuppressWarnings({ "unchecked", "rawtypes" })

    @SideOnly(Side.CLIENT)

    @Override

    public void getSubItems(Item par1, CreativeTabs par2CreativeTabs, List par3List)

    {

        for (int x = 0; x < name.length; x++)

        {

            par3List.add(new ItemStack(this, 1, x));

        }

    }

}

Thank you ;)

Item metadata.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

To do what?  Those highlighted methods deal with the item's metadata value.  You wanted to know what they are for, they are for metadata.
