Posted December 1, 201510 yr Hi, I'm having some issues rendering an Apple on top of my entity, it seems to just continue spinning. Here is my code: https://gist.github.com/AndreasElia/4b79812050b95cded408 And the issue currently stands with an Apple rendered (but continuously spinning) on top of my custom entity. How on earth do I stop it spinning? Thanks, Andreas
December 1, 201510 yr Entity items have rotation applied based on their age. I suggest you create a static entity item rather than creating a new one every frame, and manually forcing its age to 0. December 1, 201510 yr Author Thanks for the reply, Draco18s. Would you care to elaborate a little, does Minecraft have something similar to this I could look in to so I can get guidance? The only other method I've tried and that makes sense, available in the RenderManager is renderEntityStatic, but didn't do the job (kept spinning). December 1, 201510 yr As I said, they render rotation based on age. A brand new entity item has a slightly random age. As for an example, https://github.com/Draco18s/Artifacts/blob/master/main/java/com/draco18s/artifacts/entity/TileEntityDisplayPedestal.java When there is an item in the inventory, it creates an EntityItem (which is rendered with the standard EntityRenderer when the TE's model renders, with some GL_rotates so that it lays flat) and sets its age and rotation to 0. December 2, 201510 yr Author Thanks Draco18s but I still can't figure it out, I spent some time on this last night and today but can't find any information regarding setting the entity age/making the entity static.
December 2, 201510 yr ent.age = 0 ? Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. December 2, 201510 yr Author Entity.age is private as of 1.8 but I managed to stop the spinning by reading how you used GL11 to translate your shelves mod items. Thanks for your help, Draco18s!
