Posted January 4, 20169 yr So... I'm trying to create a new thread in my packet to modify certain properties of items and players. Although I know that 1.8 has a simple solution for this which is: .addScheduledTask(new Runnable() However I can not find an equivalent for this(neither client or server world classes)
January 4, 20169 yr Oh MY GOD, FALSE, this is 1.7.10. goddamn me, I should be more careful (sorry, 1.7.10 is so ancient I forgot to consider its existence *looks at OP with laser-eyes*). EDIT Yeah, basically below. 1.7.10 is no longer supported by forge, you are on your own.
January 4, 20169 yr Author New thread? What? That 1.8 method does more or less the opposite of "creating a thread", it makes sure your code runs on the main thread. In 1.7.10 it is not needed, since the packet handler code already runs on the main thread. Right, I was false informed than. So my code should automatically run as long as my packet runs?
January 4, 20169 yr Right, I was false informed than. So my code should automatically run as long as my packet runs? If your packet arrives, then the code in your packet handler runs. Ergo, your code runs if your packet is sent. Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME. Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice. Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked. DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
January 4, 20169 yr Author Thanks again, after doing some debugging I found out it wasn't the actual packet that raised suspicion but it was a check in the event right where it checks if you hit an entity or not. Anyways, thanks to the both of you for clairing this up ^^
