Okay, so I have a bock, that when you break it, it turns into another block. I want that block to then start ticking down a timer and turn back into the original block.

How could I setup a block to tick, or a TileEntity to tick. I've been looking at tileentity tutorials but none seem to show me how to make a timer tick down or any sort of per tick function. i really need some help getting this to work. tileentities are still confusing to me and I'm get to get one to properly work.

You need a TileEntity for this.  Setting up a block to have a TileEntity is very easy.

Once you have a TileEntity you override

onUpdate

and voila, that method gets called every tick.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

To make a ticking

TileEntity

in 1.8+, the

TileEntity

must implement

IUpdatePlayerListBox

[nobbc](1.8)[/nobbc] or

ITickable

(1.8.8/1.8.9).

Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.
