I need to render the top of any full block in a TileEntitySpecialRenderer. How can I do this?

Solved it with help from the people here and a bit of stealing from Forge's rendering code. Probably not the best method, but it works just fine for my purposes.

Item itemBlock = SomeItemStack.getItem();
IBlockState blockState = Block.getBlockFromItem(itemBlock).getStateFromMeta(SomeItemStack.getItemDamage());

IBakedModel model = Minecraft.getMinecraft().getBlockRendererDispatcher().getModelForState(blockState);
if (model != null)
{
List<BakedQuad> quads = model.getQuads(blockState, EnumFacing.UP, 0);

GlStateManager.pushMatrix();
GlStateManager.bindTexture(Minecraft.getMinecraft().getTextureMapBlocks().getGlTextureId());

GlStateManager.translate(x, y, z);
GlStateManager.scale(1.0D, 1.0D, 1.0D);

for (BakedQuad quad : quads)
{
	int color = Minecraft.getMinecraft().getBlockColors().colorMultiplier(blockState, (IBlockAccess)null, (BlockPos)null, quad.getTintIndex());
	VertexBuffer vertexbuffer = Tessellator.getInstance().getBuffer();
	vertexbuffer.begin(7, DefaultVertexFormats.ITEM);
	vertexbuffer.addVertexData(quad.getVertexData());
	vertexbuffer.putColorRGB_F4(((color >> 16) & 0xFF) / 255.0F, ((color >>  & 0xFF) / 255.0F, (color & 0xFF) / 255.0F);
}

Tessellator.getInstance().draw();
GlStateManager.popMatrix();
}

1.7, pretty easy.

1.9? Fuck if I know if its even possible. *cough, the whole json model thing being arcane*

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

I am thinking along these lines:

1. Get model from registry

2. Get its BakesQuads.

3. Find the one facing top (I think if the block is as you said "full block", there will be only one Quad facing "top", is it north?)

4. BakedQuad has link to texture sheet u, v, doesn't it (or just take that BakedQuad and copy it)? Last time I was surfing with rendering was early 1.8...

Might be a way to go (if even makes sense), there is probably better one tho.

1.7.10 is no longer supported by forge, you are on your own.

Minecraft.getMinecraft().getBlockRendererDispatcher().getModelForState

You are the best. I actually had looked at that method but thought I was on the wrong track. Oops.
