Because Bukkit/Cauldron are dead.

What do you talking about? Thats not valid reply.

PS. Cauldron is not bukkit is Spigot for your information

PPS. Although Spigot is based on Bukkit ;)

Cauldron and Bukkit are dead yes.

There are a lot of people who bounce back and forth being armchair lawyers but for now it's considered dead.

ย

Cauldron is dead and that is no argument because the people who were doing it decided that the legal curfuffel wasn't worth it.

So the site is down.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

What about Spigot? After all Cauldron is based on Spigot, but Spigot isn`t dead

Spigot has close to none affiliation with Forge - Cauldron was maybe one of them, but as said - Cauldron is dead.

ย

Spigot is Bukkit-based (server-side plugins), Forge is Forge (server, client or both sides mods)

Currently best (in my and many other devs opinion) option is Forge server with SpongeAPI.

Forge is best modding platform there is and SpongeAPI allows you to have bukkit-like (I hate to say it like this) server-side plugins (ofc. Forge doesn't need Sponge to run server-only mods). It is all much simplier and cleaner than those ancient dead projects.

1.7.10 is no longer supported by forge, you are on your own.

you can still get spigot

http://blackflagonline.com/index.php?threads/bukkit-spigot-is-this-the-end-spigot-patcher-spigot-build-1649.26/

md-5 now makes a patcher

and bukkit looks like is is still getting updated https://hub.spigotmc.org/stash/projects/SPIGOT

ย

Cauldron was a lot of hacks to make it work

ย

ย
