Hi,

 

Is it possible to get the modid of an item if you know the item's unlocalized name? For example, I might know that I have an item with an unlocalized name of tile.oreIron, is there some method I can use to tell me that this item was registered by a "mod" with a modid of "minecraft"?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: yes, if you update to 1.8 or later.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.
