I'm new, so pardon me if I'm being ignorant. I downloaded 1.4.6 today and decided to update all of my mods. I can't get past the building terrain screen. I've redownloaded minecraft several times, and it works until I install forge. Then, poof. No world generation.

Here's the crash report generated by minecraft:

Any help is appreciated.

Ok, I can get worlds to load now, and I got rid of CodeChickenCore or whatever it is. Problem now is that my game will only load worlds if I opened the game used minecrafterreortest.bat

You're not installing forge correctly, as long as you don't screw up the install, it'll be able to access that field.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

Do I get rid of all the meta-inf files, including the oens that come with forge, or just the ones that come in vanilla miencraft?

Think about that.. why would we ship something just to have you delete it?

True enough point, but I have found a bad tutorial that loaded in all the forge files and *then* deleted the meta-inf. Anyhow, step-by-step here is what I did.

1) Download universal forge file and open in j-zip

2) Open minecraft jar and delete meta-inf

3) Transfer all files from the forge download into my minecraft jar file.

4) Open Minecraft

5) Create new world.

6) Wait for game to crash and come here to ask for help.

You didn't install forge all the way, simple as that.

I opened the zip I downloaded, and then alphabetized it. The file isn't there. could it be a problem with my zip program? I use j-zip.

Somehow you're fucking up putting the forge_at.cfg file into your minecraft.jar, seriously, how difficult is it to copy files to the jar?

Simple solution, install forge properly. If you can't do it yourself, use a launcher that does it for you.
