I have a custom block, my tileEntity and my tileEntity special renderer.

I guessed it should be somewhat similar to this.getFontRenderer().drawString();

to draw the string.

but I couldn't figure out the int parameters yet.

What would it be if I have a String I want on top of the block?

Coincidentally I saw a Forge pull request that does precisely this....without needing a TileEntitySpecialRenderer

Lex's comment was "this is a good example of how to do text on static models that everyone bitches about."

And when the text I want to have displayed may change depending on GUI interactions, will this still be possible?

Not having looked over what that guy did in detail, I have no idea.

Since I already have a tileEntitySpecialRenderer and tileEntity for my block. How would I do it in that case?

The link was for not tileEntitySpecialRenderer.

String text = "Blablablah";
            FontRenderer fontRenderer = this.getFontRenderer();
            fontRenderer.drawString(text, 0, (int) (y * fontRenderer.FONT_HEIGHT), 0xFFFF00FF);

I tried that similar to the font rendering he sent.

But I can't find the text. When I am at a certain angle I got some block artifacts in the image but no words.

I'd like to have it on top of my block.

I'm using 1.10 and I looked at the example he posted. But I wasn't able to understand what I have to do to get it working.

I have a json model, a tile entity and the block/item.

How can I implement this text rendering for the block. The text should depend on a variable in the tileEntity.
