Game crashes while loading a mod

Before i write anything, i already found this exact problem on the forums, but i'm unable to reply, and it's in a different version: http://www.minecraftforge.net/forum/index.php?topic=42478.msg225765#msg225765

Basically, i started up the game with the mod IC2(exact version industrialcraft-2-2.6.142-ex110), and when the game is on "Initializing Mods Phase 3" and while loading the mod, it crashes, and gives me a log. Note that i tested with no other mods, forge versions(1.10.2) 2185, 2205, 2151 and latest for 1.10.0. What is interesting is, that the log contradicts the game files. http://pastebin.com/5yQj9PpB

Short summary of the log:

The IC2 config file contains an invalid entry for balance/recyclerBlacklist.

Invalid value at line 63 (recyclerBlacklist = minecraft:glass_pane, minecraft:stick, minecraft:snowball, minecraft:snow_layer, minecraft:snow, IC2:blockScaffold).

There is no item matching IC2:blockScaffold.

If you look at this image http://i.imgur.com/l6TFxhy.png , you can see that it actually writes IC2:scaffold, NOT IC2:blockScaffold and i have went to the mods creators' forum, and they replied that everything about the mod is working properly.

This is an issue with IC2, and Forge can't do anything about it. Report it to the author of IC2.

Don't PM me with questions. They will be ignored! Make a thread on the appropriate board for support.

Can you open up the IC2.ini file, find blockScaffold, and change it to scaffold?

Mine is line 47 (from FTB lite) , looks like: recyclerBlacklist = minecraft:glass_pane, minecraft:stick, minecraft:snowball, minecraft:snow_layer, minecraft:snow, IC2:scaffold

If you look at the imgur link he posted, it already says
IC2:scaffold

in the config file.

Sorry, I looked at that image too lol.

Perhaps it's using another IC2.ini file from somewhere? Sounds silly but really only other thing that makes sense

*Edit: the highlighted line in the image is line 54, not line 63 per the error. This gives a little more credibility to the theory that it's using a different config file from somewhere doesn't it?

So i decided to uninstall and install minecraft, and miraculously it worked! So i thought of why it might not have worked, and i though because i didn't actually run forge without any mods, and because i had that mod and some other mods in a previous version, i just deleted them and placed new mods that work for 1.10.2.

    • In case anyone happens on this with the same issue, I was able to overcome it. After re-reading @Paint_Ninja's last post numerous time, it finally dawned on me that he was referring wholly to the forge installer, which has nothing to do with the packaged modpack installer. As such, I downloaded the new copy of the forge installer and copied it to my linux host, then opened a second ssh session and prepared a cp command to move the new (correct) installer over to the install directory where I was installing the modpack. After the modpack installer had just about finished retrieving files, I overwrote the installer.jar file with the correct one in a seperate ssh session. The modpack (packaged) installer then used that jar to install forge with the included files, and the install finished as I would have expected. Thanks all!
    • Just tried it again removed directory entirely, downloaded a brand new, fresh copy and did a fresh install, even going as far as running as root for the install to make sure I didn't hose something up permissions wise (I know its a terrible idea.), but same thing, failed install. This is making me feel mighty dumb, I must say... any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.
