Posted January 18, 201312 yr I have a bunch of mods installed but I think this is something to do with Forge but I could be (and probably am) wrong. I've looked through the EAQ and a few threads but I don't think anyone else is having this problem. It was fine until last night when the screen kept blacking out and coming back on then it just crashed completely, then when I tried to start it back up I get to the Mojang screen then after a few seconds I get the error screen. Here's the error report: ---- Minecraft Crash Report ---- // I blame Dinnerbone. Time: 18/01/13 3:28 PM Description: Failed to start game cpw.mods.fml.common.LoaderException: java.lang.RuntimeException: Unknown character ' ' in 'C:/Users/Gumballthechewy/AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/config/forge.cfg:1' at cpw.mods.fml.common.Loader.identifyMods(Loader.java:323) at cpw.mods.fml.common.Loader.loadMods(Loader.java:458) at cpw.mods.fml.client.FMLClientHandler.beginMinecraftLoading(FMLClientHandler.java:161) at net.minecraft.client.Minecraft.a(Minecraft.java:410) at asq.a(SourceFile:56) at net.minecraft.client.Minecraft.run(Minecraft.java:744) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: Unknown character ' ' in 'C:/Users/Gumballthechewy/AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/config/forge.cfg:1' at net.minecraftforge.common.Configuration.load(Configuration.java:612) at net.minecraftforge.common.Configuration.<init>(Configuration.java:89) at net.minecraftforge.common.ForgeDummyContainer.<init>(ForgeDummyContainer.java:44) at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(Unknown Source) at java.lang.reflect.Constructor.newInstance(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Class.newInstance0(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Class.newInstance(Unknown Source) at cpw.mods.fml.common.Loader.identifyMods(Loader.java:318) ... 6 more A detailed walkthrough of the error, its code path and all known details is as follows: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- System Details -- Details: Minecraft Version: 1.4.7 Operating System: Windows 7 (x86) version 6.1 Java Version: 1.7.0_09, Oracle Corporation Java VM Version: Java HotSpot Client VM (mixed mode), Oracle Corporation Memory: 447861344 bytes (427 MB) / 519110656 bytes (495 MB) up to 1037959168 bytes (989 MB) JVM Flags: 2 total; -Xms512m -Xmx1024m AABB Pool Size: 0 (0 bytes; 0 MB) allocated, 0 (0 bytes; 0 MB) used Suspicious classes: FML and Forge are installed IntCache: cache: 0, tcache: 0, allocated: 0, tallocated: 0 FML: MCP v7.26 FML v4.7.4.520 Minecraft Forge 6.6.0.497 Optifine OptiFine_1.4.6_HD_U_B4 2 mods loaded, 0 mods active mcp [Minecraft Coder Pack] (minecraft.jar) FML [Forge Mod Loader] (coremods) LWJGL: 2.4.2 OpenGL: GeForce GTX 550 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 GL version 4.2.0, NVIDIA Corporation Is Modded: Definitely; Client brand changed to 'forge, fml' Type: Client (map_client.txt) Texture Pack: Faithful 32x32.zip Profiler Position: N/A (disabled) Vec3 Pool Size: ~~ERROR~~ NullPointerException: null But if I remove the "forge.cfg" file from the "config" folder first it starts no problem but will still crash randomly. I'm pretty sure I'm using the latest version of Forge, the download says: minecraftforge-universal-1.4.7-6.6.0.497 I've tried a clean restore of Minecraft itself (erase the entire .minecraft folder) but it still persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Don't take anything I say seriously! EVER!
January 19, 201312 yr No, 499 is the newest. Read the EAQ before posting! OR ELSE! This isn't building better software, its trying to grab a place in the commit list of a highly visible github project. www.forgeessentials.com Don't PM me, I don't check this account unless I have to.
January 19, 201312 yr Author 497 is the latest recommended... Don't take anything I say seriously! EVER!
January 19, 201312 yr Delete C:/Users/Gumballthechewy/AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/config/forge.cfg There's an EAQ for a reason. Read it! "Note that failure to read this will make you look idiotic. You don't want that do you?" -- luacs1998 First rule of bug reports: More information is always better. Oh, and logs OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!
January 20, 201312 yr Author I was mistaken, I completely removed the .minecraft folder and did a fresh download and tried it with no mods of any sort and it still does the same thing, I fear it's problems with my graphics card. Sorry for the false alarm but thanks for the help! Don't take anything I say seriously! EVER!
