Forgive me if I'm missing something simple, I'm new to writing mods for Minecraft. In fact this problem is from me following this tutorial.

Apparently I'm missing a file even though I'm pretty sure I'm pointing to it, and the file does exist in the workspace.

Here is my error:

READ your error.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

I'm no expert, but the directories given in your item json do not correspond with the ones in your mods assets folder.

An e.g. where it says

tutorial:items/tutorial_item

the mod is looking for a folder called assets.tutorial.items.tutorial_item

I highly recommend you familiarize yourself with the java and json before attempting this. It'll make the process much smoother.

Thanks everyone! I didn't realize "tutorial" was pointing towards a folder/package, I thought it was using the modid I had set.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, I went to bed right after posting this.

Well, rather, your modID isn't set. You may have given your code a package name, but your mod ID is still "tutorial."
