[1.10.2] Item Variant not working.

hi,

I have a problem with Item variants, I dont know what i've done wrong. There are not any error in the console

Here is my code.

 

Item model loading 

	 public static void render(Item item, int meta){
		 ModelLoader.setCustomModelResourceLocation(item, meta, new ModelResourceLocation("alchemist:"+item.getUnlocalizedName().substring(5), "spelltype="+meta));
	 }

 

 

alchemist/blockstates (the 3d item model)

Please stop using getUnlocalizedName for things that aren't display.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

yes Purple cubes but no Texture/model Error.

I've changed the render thingy 

 public static void render(Item item, int meta){

now it works but if i change this

You need model jsons for your variants:

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.
