Hey guys just a short question here. I'm updating a mod from Minecraft version 1.7 to version 1.8 and the mod uses IItemRenderer to render a custom item model in version 1.7.

I already know that the rendering system changed fundamentally in version 1.8 but I don't know what I shall use instead of IItemRenderer to render the item in 1.8.

I googled my problem and found nothing helpful so I would appreciate it if someone could help me.

P.S.: I know of course that the 1.12 is already out, but I definitely want to support version 1.8 as well.

For basic questions like this, I would recommend taking a look at this playlist by MrCrayfish, the creator of MrCrayfish's furniture mod:

This forum does not support 1.8. Expect this thread to be locked soon.

If it's a static model then you can just create a JSON model. If it needs to be based off item NBT or has an animation then you can to create a custom IModel/IBakedModel. Forge has lots of examples of this.

You can also use ItemMeshDefinition and JSON models:

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
