[1.12.1] Weird issue with custom furnace like tileEntity

I created a crusher block which acts like a furnace but has its own set of recipes that create a random amount of dust. It works mostly as intended but it has this weird visual glitch where a fraction of a second before it finishes it will display a different result.

 I have no idea what could cause this as the code is very simple.

 

Here is the code in the tileEntity that inserts the object and the only code that calls it:

		ItemStack input = inventory.getStackInSlot(0);
		ItemStack crushedItem = RecipesCrusher.getOutput(input); 
		ItemStack outputCurrent = inventory.getStackInSlot(1);
		if(outputCurrent == null || outputCurrent.getCount() == 0){
			inventory.insertItem(1, crushedItem.copy(), false);
			input.shrink(1);
		}
		else if(outputCurrent.isItemEqual(crushedItem)){
			outputCurrent.grow(crushedItem.getCount());
			input.shrink(1);
		}

Any help would be appreciated.

The client and server are picking different random values. The client's value updates the GUI immediately (because it's already right there) but the server has to send a packet informing the client of the current (and correct) stack size.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

So is there anyway to prevent this?

 

Edit: Adding if(!world.isRemote) before calling mix seems to have fixed it. Though now the progress bar is out of sync.I will see if I can fix that.
