Just like the title says can not open chests with 2569 and higher on 1.12.2. Reverting back to 2568 fixed this.

Same here...no longer able to open chests with 2569 and 2568 works fine.

Same here. 2566 and 2568, no issues. 2577 and I can no longer open chests.

Yea i wouldnt know how to reproduce this so you could visually see, but im guessing if its working for you then would have to be a mod causing the problem. I will start to go through mods i guess and see what maybe is causing the issue. Just alot of mods to go through.

Ok this is strange I havent changed anything but now the chests seem to open. So im not sure what the issue was last night this was using 2574. Maybe it was Jei issue as well. Cause i did just update JEI.

Still seem to be having issues with this. Went to the nether and now cant open chests again.

I am working on it. There is alot of mods to go through. Also i can open minecart chests just fine just not any other chest, but like I said am going through mods to see what is causing this. Honestly im just trying to help out.

Testing some this morning...updates for Integrated Dynamics and Minecolonies. Game crashed when I tried to open the inventory of my builder. Just before that I could not open any regular chests. This is with Forge 2568. Tried Forge 2577 and I could open the inventory of the builder but still not a standard chest.

 

Can anyone verify using ether of these two mods? I think it is an issue with Minecolnies...that would be my first suspect mod.

 

Will check here again tonight and see how the hunt goes...

I am using integrated dynamics but dont get crash. if your trying with 2577 and your using Immersive engineering thats the cause of crash i think. I am still working to try and figure out the chest thing.

In my case 'preview_OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_C8_pre' prior to 12-18-2017 was causing chests not to open. I DL'd the 12-18-2017 version that is compatible with forge 2577 and the chests open as before.

Always gotta be optifine lol

Yes thank you Cracked. Now just gotta wait for Immersive engineering to update before i can move past 2575 forge. /sigh

Just in case anyone is still having the problem, I've confirmed that the problem, for me at least, was OptiFine (ofc). Updating to C8 fixed this issue.

 I'll visit this website whenever I have other Minecraft problems!

Yeah, Optifine only works on specific versions of Forge & absolutely breaks everything on any other version
