Mod load question - can you load an old mod into a newer forge?

Hi

Very new to minecraft. We would like to try the copious dog mod (Copious-Dogs-1.7.10) which i believe is for 1.7.10. I saw the other thread that said 1.7.10 forge is no longer supported. Is there any way to get this mod to load in the latest version of forge?

 

or is there another way to do it so my daughter can play it?

No, Mods are designed for a specific MC version. Due to things that Mojang does on their end it isn't feasible to make a mod work on multiple versions.

You can still play old versions, we just won't help you when it breaks.
