Title kinda says it all but i am trying to make it where when you place dirt inside a water source block, it replaces the dirt block with a block i call "BlockInit.MUD_BLOCK". I don't see a method that easily makes this possible so i am coming here for some help in finding one. The closest methods i can find is farmland methods but that only detects if farmland is next to water, i am trying to detect when dirt is INSIDE water or when dirt Replaces water. Anyone who helps me find a method that can easily do this, thank you in advance. :x:D

I think he's looking for a way to detect the player replacing a block of water with a block of dirt.

Assuming Draco18s is right, you could do something like this:

  1. Subscribe to the PlayerInteractEvent.RightClickBlock event.
  2. Use RightClickBlock#getFace to get which side of the block was clicked.
  3. Use BlockPos#offset to get the position of the block that's adjacent to the one clicked.
  4. Use World#getBlockState to get the IBlockState at the position you obtained in the prior step.
  5. Use IBlockState#getBlock to get the Block at that position.
  6. Check if the block is a water block, and if so, use World#setBlockState to place your mud block.

7. Cancel the event

8. Reduce the used item stack's size
