Camera Effect?

You want to draw on the screen directly/an overlay. Use RenderGameOverlayEvent.Post

Do you know if the distortion caused by nausea would also be possible with this event?

It should take a look at GuiIngameForge line 139. It simply just renders the portal affect over the screen.

I’m not at my computer or I would look myself, by effect do you mean the texture, the distortion or both?

That is just the texture, the actual distortion is done in EntityRenderer#setupCameraTransform which just does some GL rotations and scales. Though you might be able to do this, though you should do it in GameOverlayEvent.Pre so it doesn't mess with the hotbar, etc. Also you may want to create your own thread because this is getting off topic and might be considered Thread Hijacking.

    • Hello, Hi and I am making a forge 1.12.2 mod and also trying to get a custom model helmet item (I made a joker mask) and exported it to .json format and put it in the ~/namespace/models/item folder. Though, I'm struggling to get the item to render what I want it to be rendered like as I've positioned it in the 'head' window view in blockbench. How did you render out your model? I checked your code and it looks like no references to the actual model are being made. I'm new to this forge modding stuff (was a fabric modder) and I desperately need some help.
