Posted September 13, 20187 yr I'm trying to add a menu that shows when you load a world for the first time, how do I do that in 1.12? Edited September 15, 20187 yr by Spaceboy Ross Got the code to work. The official YouTuber Spaceboy Ross
September 14, 20187 yr I haven't used it before, but you know how to subscribe to and use events, yes? Your description isn't very precise, so it's a bit hard to give specific advice. GuiScreenEvent has several sub-types that can be used in various situations. If you're looking to display a menu when the player clicks Create New World, for example, it looks like subscribing to ActionPerformedEvent might work best. Get the list of buttons and swap out the Create New World button for a custom button that you create to load your new menu.

September 14, 20187 yr When every player enters the world for the first time? Or only for the first player to ever enter the world?

Create a capability that simply stores a boolean of hasConnected or whatever and in the EntityJoinWorldEvent check that capability and if it is false then open a gui via EntityPlayer#openGui VANILLA MINECRAFT CLASSES ARE THE BEST RESOURCES WHEN MODDING I will be posting 1.15.2 modding tutorials on this channel. If you want to be notified of it do the normal YouTube stuff like subscribing, ect. Forge and vanilla BlockState generator.
September 14, 20187 yr Also, the World class has a getTotalWorldTime() method. So basically you need to handle an appropriate event like when player joins world or similar, then post a GuiScreen using the information from getTotalWorlTime(). There are already tutorials for handling events and tutorials for creating GUIs, so try what you can and if you're still having trouble post your code. September 14, 20187 yr Author @SubscribeEvent public static void hasConnected(PlayerEvent.PlayerLoggedInEvent event) { INewtypeCapability nt = CapabilityUtils.getCapability(event.player,MAX_NEWTYPE_CAPABILITY,DEFAULT_FACING); if(!nt.hasShownHumantypeMenu()) { event.player.openGui(GundamMod.instance,HumantypeGUI.GUI_ID,event.player.getEntityWorld(),event.player.getPosition().getX(),event.player.getPosition().getY(),event.player.getPosition().getZ()); } } This snippet is the code that should open the ui but it doesn't work. Loggin works so that means the function is being called. The official YouTuber Spaceboy Ross
September 15, 20187 yr Author Ok, I got it to work. I figured it out and now I just need to program the UI. The official YouTuber Spaceboy Ross
