TestingSubject002 Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 (edited) Hello. I want to create a new item (book if telling more precisely) which has custom text on it. How can I do that? I suppose that I have to create my own ICustomModelLoader, IModel and return BakedItemModel with extra quads attached to letters' textures in IModel bake(...) function. Am I right? Cadiboo Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Will the text change much? TestingSubject002 Posted February 6, 2019 Author Posted February 6, 2019 There would be a lot of books and maybe player-generated, but text of every book is constant. Quote
Choonster Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 You may want to look at Forge's FancyMissingModel, which uses SimpleModelFontRenderer to render the location of the missing model. Cadiboo Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 I鈥檝e noticed that their implementation is pretty poor performance wise when you have lots of missing model on screen at once, and is prone to crashes (in a debug world type, probably a problem with getActualState or something) and weird errors rendering (parts of text not appearing, random vertices shooting off in random directions) Quote About Me Reveal hidden contents My Discord - Cadiboo#8887 My Website - Cadiboo.github.io My Mods - Cadiboo.github.io/projects My Tutorials - Cadiboo.github.io/tutorials Versions below 1.14.4 are no longer supported on this forum. TestingSubject002 Posted February 6, 2019 Author Posted February 6, 2019 I'll get a look at SimpleModelFontRenderer. Quote
