Yay a For profit server manager bypassing our source of income. These is an example of exactly what we don't want happening.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

So what can I tell them to fix this or will I not be able to use forge anymore via webpage because you want to add ad's for profit to your page now?

You can install the server manually by installing Forge into a vanilla instance and then selecting the Forge jar as the launch jar.

 

Also, are you implying that the Forge project is not allowed to make any money and should be paid for out of pocket?

The ads have been there for ages and help pay the bills, it’s just now they’ve decided to take down an internal manifest that they haven’t used in ages and it turns out everyone was using that to bypass Forge’s main source of income.

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.
