I want to create harvest levels greater than what exists and one in-between. I have added a new material, adamant. This material is supposed to be better than diamond but only minable by diamond. How can I make the adamant ore a higher harvest level than diamond?  I'm sorry if this is super simple, sometimes my brain does not work right.

So, make its harvest level 4. You can absolutely do that, its just an interger.

Alright, so I have set the materials, their harvest levels as well as the blocks and their harvest levels. However, a bronze pick can mine every block. Any suggestions? Here is some code:

Do you mean...

a) can break the block

b) can break the block and gives item drops

You set your harvest level to 3 (not 4).

Harvest levels are stored via the integer variable (int), so you can't necessarily use a Harvest Level of say... 2.5. It probably is possible though, but if it is it will convoluted. Like Draco said above though, you can set the harvest level to any whole number. As long as it has a tool with a matching or higher harvest level, it can be broken by said tool.

Follow these rules when talking to me, and we'll get along fine.

1).I know Java fairly well. I don't know as much about modding. They are not the same, don't compare them.

2). I consider myself to always be learning. I make mistakes, you make mistakes. Who doesn't?

3). Insult me, and I will leave the thread. I have a real life, I don't have time to throw petty insults in a Minecraft Modding forum.

Harvested. You can break any block with your first if you really want to.

I corrected my issue yesterday by including the new ore blocks into the effective-on set within Minecraft and including them within the exceptions list for harvest levels. Thank you all for being helpful and not getting frustrated by my stupidity.

    • It is 1.12.2 - I have no idea if there is a 1.12 pack
    • Okay, but does the modpack works with 1.12 or just with 1.12.2, because I need the Forge client specifically for Minecraft 1.12, not 1.12.2
    • Version 1.19 - Forge 41.0.63 I want to create a wolf entity that I can ride, so far it seems to be working, but the problem is that when I get on the wolf, I can’t control it. I then discovered that the issue is that the server doesn’t detect that I’m riding the wolf, so I’m struggling with synchronization. However, it seems to not be working properly. As I understand it, the server receives the packet but doesn’t register it correctly.
