RedWolf Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 I am writing a simple mod based on Cubicoder's tutorial and the models aren't loading correctly. I know it has something to do with the JSON files but I don't know which one or what the problem is. This is the link to the log of Minecraft starting and closing. https://pastebin.com/2i4k4vkn Quote
DavidM Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 Show your json files. Quote Some tips: Spoiler Modder Support: Spoiler 1. Do not follow tutorials on YouTube, especially TechnoVision (previously called Loremaster) and HarryTalks, due to their promotion of bad practice and usage of outdated code. 2. Always post your code. 3. Never copy and paste code. You won't learn anything from doing that. 4. Quote Programming via Eclipse's hotfixes will get you nowhere 5. Learn to use your IDE, especially the debugger. 6. Quote The "picture that's worth 1000 words" only works if there's an obvious problem or a freehand red circle around it. Support & Bug Reports: Spoiler 1. Read the EAQ before asking for help. Remember to provide the appropriate log(s). 2. Versions below 1.11 are no longer supported due to their age. Update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support.

RedWolf Posted March 20, 2019 Author Posted March 20, 2019 Whoops. I just noticed I spelled Variants in the greenstone_ore.json as "varients". Not the main issue but needs fixing. Quote
DavidM Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 (edited) Post the new log. What is the current problem (after fixing the spelling)? RedWolf Posted March 20, 2019 Author Posted March 20, 2019 Here is another new log because I found another spelling mistake. greenstonemod in Greenstone_ore.json was spelled "greensonemod". after I did that Greenstone Ore worked. here is the new log. https://pastebin.com/ggmA3Gnu Quote
DavidM Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 Your ore block should be working now; however, the item form of it is missing a model. Create a model for the item form of your ore. The tutorial you are following should cover creating a model for item. Quote Some tips: Spoiler Modder Support: Spoiler 1. RedWolf Posted March 20, 2019 Author Posted March 20, 2019 I created the model and it works but the name of the ore is still tile.greenstonemod.oreGreenstone.name instead of Greenstone ore even though I have a language file that is supposed to change the name. The language file works for the item I have made, but it dosen't work for the block. item.greenstonemod.ingotGreenstone.name=Greenstone Ingot tile.greenstonemod.blockGreenstone.name=Greenstone Block tile.greenstonemod.oreGreenstone.name=Greenstone Ore itemGroup.greenstonemod.tabGreenstoneMod=Greenstone Mod (the language file) Quote
DavidM Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 Check the lang file and make sure the name on the left side of the equal sign matches the unlocalized name of the block. 1 Quote Some tips: Spoiler Modder Support: Spoiler 1. RedWolf Posted March 22, 2019 Author Posted March 22, 2019 I figured out what was wrong with the greenstone block. Greenstone was spelled with three "e"s.It all works fine now. Apparently it was just spelling errors for everything. Quote
