When you download and install forge on linux, forge does not appear in the game versoin shoeser. I can install earlier versions and run them compleatly fine and the 1.13 forge folder is in the versions folder it but can't be shoosen in the menu

What launcher are you using? Please provide a screenshot.

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

 

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

Is that the old universal launcher?

Forge only works in the newer native launchers.

I know they updated the Linux launcher about a year ago and even from a jar file to packed deb. I can test to update it if it makes any difference. But how does every other versoin work with forge?

Nevermind.. It came up and everything but now, not any version of forge want to start. It just says "Game Crashed". I don't have anything in the mods or addons folder

Do you know what this means. I could launch it one time but now it crashes again:
