I bought minecraft for PC for my son today. Where do you find mods for minecraft 1.13.2.  We have forge installed, mods are working, just cant find the right version mods. He really wants the lucky block. How do I get it?

Also, can you only use the same version number mods. Havent been able to get any to work, so assuming they must all be 1.13.2. Not 100% sure how these mods work.

Thanks

You can also use the twitch app (was called curse app before), it has it's own section for modded minecraft and it's directly linked to the curse website. You can then setup multiple profiles and install mods from in the app. The app install's the right mod for the version you want and it comes directly from the Original site.

I suggest you search on YouTube how to install twitch for minecraft and how to use it. It's pretty easy to use. Me, family and friends are using it too. There are also other apps that will probebly do the same. I prefer the twitch app and as far as i know, it is the only offcial app for this.

The Lucky Block mod has not been updated to 1.13.2 yet.

In general mods can be best found on CurseForge. Stay away from websites like 9minecraft and friends, check out the StopModReposts website for more info.

Thank you, going to check it out now.  Can you use 1.12 version of forge instead with the latest minecraft, then change to the 1.13 when more mods become available?

Yes, you can play on 1.12.2 with 1.12.2 mods, and then play on 1.13.2 with 1.13.2 mods when they come out.

Learn about Launcher profiles. They allow you to create different "launch profiles", allowing to have multiple Minecraft instances, effectively. You can have one for "Modded 1.12.2" and one for "Vanilla 1.13.2", etc. It is highly recommended to change the "Game directory" option to something other than .minecraft, which will move the mods, configurations, worlds, etc. to that other directory. This prevents things like accidentally loading your modded world in vanilla (which usually destroys the world) and allows you to have different sets of mods without always moving files around.

Oh ok cool. He started trying the twitch app for the mods, he seems to be working it out he is 10. Mum (me) is trying to act like I can help him haha, I have passed on the commemts here and he is loving the mods! Will let him know about the profiles.

Where am I going wrong.
