Posted April 4, 201312 yr I recently decided to update Minecraft, so I moved the 'saves' folder, deleted .minecraft, updated Minecraft, then stuck my saves back on. Completely new slate with the exception of my worlds. After deleting META-INF, I installed FML as directed by the instructions. When loading Minecraft up and after logging in, it simply sat there near the end of the 'Done Loading' screen. I repeated my initial steps several times in hope that something went wrong and would be fixed. It worked, and that loading screen finished, but now it gets stuck on the 'Hello' window. FML is setting up your Minecraft environment Please wait, FML has some tasks to do before you can play Currently doing ... And it simply sits on this screen forever, never passing the 0% mark. What can I do to fix this?
April 5, 201312 yr Author My logs? I'm not sure what you mean by that. If you're referring to error logs, there are none. I get no errors, it just sits there forever, and Minecraft never loads.
April 5, 201312 yr Author Actually, I don't believe I have anything like that. After doing some searching, in my own files and other portions of this forum, I looked in the folder it was said to reside and I found nothing.
April 5, 201312 yr Author I looked there, and I see nothing relating to Forge. Folders: bin, config, mods, resources, saves, stats, texturepacks, texturepacks-mp-cache. Text Files: ModLoader, options, output-client. Others: debug.stitched_item.png, debug.stitched_terrain.png, and something called lastlogin, which is labelled as a 'file'. Contents of 'ModLoader': Apr 04, 2013 7:16:18 PM ModLoader init FINE: ModLoader 1.5.1 Initializing... Apr 04, 2013 7:16:18 PM ModLoader readFromClassPath FINER: Adding mods from C:\Users\*****\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar Apr 04, 2013 7:16:18 PM ModLoader readFromClassPath FINER: Zip found. Apr 04, 2013 7:16:18 PM ModLoader addAllRenderers FINE: Initialized
April 5, 201312 yr You have ModLoader installed.. not forge, cleanup your install and try again from scratch. I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
April 6, 201312 yr Author Not just ModLoader, I know I've got Forge on there too. The readme says to copy all the contents into Minecraft.jar, and since the zip folder I'm getting the files from is titled 'minecraftforge-universal-1.5-7.7.0.582', and I got it from this site, Im pretty sure it's Forge. I copied all the contents from that file to the designated place, and it didn't work.
April 6, 201312 yr Author And for some reason, it's working perfectly fine, despite the fact that I had tried that exact method several times before to no avail. With these previous attempts, I had gotten the issue some other people had where it would remain on the 'Done Loading' screen indefinitely. I don't think I'll ever know what went wrong, but at least it works.
