What I'm trying to do is make a custom block that has furnace-esque rotation, and lights up when a redstone signal powers it.

I WAS trying to use two separate blocks for each state, but now that I saw a lot of related threads, and thought about it, that now appears to be overcomplicating things. Is there an easy way to do this?

I don't see what the problem (in a technical sense) is.

You have a block, it has a facing state and it has a powered state.

Got it.

What's the issue?

well, i tried to copy the FACING property from the old block to the new one using:

public void neighborChanged(IBlockState state, World world, BlockPos pos, Block neighborBlock, BlockPos fromPos) {
            super.neighborChanged(state, world, pos, neighborBlock, fromPos);
            int x = pos.getX();
            int y = pos.getY();
            int z = pos.getZ();
            Block block = this;
            if (world.isBlockIndirectlyGettingPowered(new BlockPos(x, y, z)) > 0) {
            } else {
                {
                    java.util.HashMap<String, Object> $_dependencies = new java.util.HashMap<>();
                    $_dependencies.put("x", x);
                    $_dependencies.put("y", y);
                    $_dependencies.put("z", z);
                    $_dependencies.put("world", world);
                    world.setBlockState(new BlockPos((int) x, (int) y, (int) z), MCreatorEndBombRInterface.block.getDefaultState().withProperty(FACING, state.getValue(FACING)), 3);

                }
            }
        }

...oh.

this is code that i just kind of cobbled together to sort of get the point across, and it turns out that this compiles perfectly.

hopefully it works in-game too.
