Hello Everyone,

I have a question about making a Forge mod compatible with Modloader. Can it be done?

I figure it could be since Forge utilizes Modloader, but I'm not sure how to make it so the same class files will work on both Forge and Modloader.

I have created a small mod that creates 5 new items. Using Forge, the items are searchable in Creative mode. Using Modloader, the items are not found when searching in Creative mode.

What needs to be done so one zip is compatible with Forge and Modloader? Or should a mod be compiled and zipped separately for Modloader?

Thank you for any help.

You would have to use purely modloader functionality, which FML emulates.

But you're also probably running into hooks that Forge adds that ModLoader doesn't.

So you're gunna have to live with the shortcomings of ModLoader if you use it.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

I assume that such mod will be like any other ML mod, which means it will only work for SSP and not at all for mp etc.?

So what would be the motivation to do this magicpat? :)

If you guys dont get it.. then well ya.. try harder...
