Posted August 16, 20196 yr I am currently trying to test out a custom enchant that protects against "magic damage" (in parenthesis because it is more of a custom magic damage than the minecraft one). I tried using the built in function calcModifierDamage that protection, fire protection, etc. uses, but it does not protect against splash potions because they completely ignore armor. I looked through the other functions and only one seemed to work, the onUserHurt function. My idea was to detect damage done, calculate damage protection, and heal the respective amount to make it seem like it reduced the damage in the first place. But since there is no livingAttackEvent, I cannot get the amount of damage dealt though any means. I am trying to do this completely inside my custom enchantment class, so many entity only functions that trigger when a certain event happens simply won't work. Is there any way to get this to work?
