Because in EntityRenderer the cameraZoom is privated???

This can quite easily be done via reflection. As it's never written to by vanilla only ever read. The reflection only has to be done when you actually change things. So do it that way.

I need the same thing to make my own bow scope/zoom too.

 

A method to set either the fov modifier value, or add another Item then the bow could be usefull for people who want to make a custom bow with a zoom.
