I downloaded the 1.12.2 forge from this website: [removed link]

 

When I downloaded the forge and installed it instead of installing it the installer simply installed unwanted software which I have no way of getting rid of after saying that it had installed forge which it hadn't. I need help on uninstalling the software and I'm also posting this to possibly give you some information on a false website.

Uninstall it like you would any other program. Control Panel -> uninstall a program

Only download forge from here. Also only download mods from reputable sources, places like curse forge or either the Minecraft Forums by the mod developer or here by the mod developer.

NEVER download forge from any site that is not official. https://files.minecraftforge.net/ is the place to go for forge. In terms of your adware, try to activate your anti-virus, or use adwcleaner.

Thank you, it’s almost funny however that that’s the first forge site that comes up. Also when I use the control panel nothing remotely comes up so I guess I’m just stuck with it.
