Read the error. The type CrackHeadModel is not a valid substitute. Try it with CrackHeadModel.class & make sure that crack head model extends EntityModel

that gave me more errors and a syntax error on token (identifier expected) .class

Yea ignore that. I just re-read the docs. Make sure it extends EntityModel

You need to specify the entity that the model works on in your model file. IE SomeEntityModel<SomeEntity>

like this:

public class CrackHeadModel extends EntityModel<CrackHead>

which fixed that error but gave me a name clash in:

  public void render(Entity entity, float f, float f1, float f2, float f3, float f4, float f5)

or this:

public class CrackHeadRender extends LivingRenderer<CrackHead, CrackHeadModel<CrackHead>>

which gave me a ton of errors

Like this. You should be able to figure out how to fix that on your own.

hey man, I changed this:

public void render(Entity entity, float f, float f1, float f2, float f3, float f4, float f5) - the erroring line with name clash

to:

public void renderer(Entity entity, float f, float f1, float f2, float f3, float f4, float f5)

it worked and the game loaded, but my entity still isn't spawning from the egg

Thats because render() is called by minecraft. Your method is named renderer(). If you can an error for render() it is because your agrguments are wrong.

okay, so I found out you need to do this:

public void render(CrackHead entity, float f, float f1, float f2, float f3, float f4, float f5)

however, my entity will not spawn from the egg. what do you need to help me?

Does it spawn at all? How are you spawning it? Try using the summon command

it does not spawn at all not even with the summon command (says unable to spawn)

Any errors? How are you registering the entity. It will be easier for you to put your code on github

 no errors that are being picked up

Dont statically initialize registry values.

Quote

public static EntityType<?> Centaur = EntityType.Builder.create(EntityClassification.MONSTER).build(MarijuanaCraft.modid + ":centaur").setRegistryName(MarijuanaCraft.location("centaur"));

If they have spawn eggs initialize them in the Register<Item> event if no spawn egg for it initialize it in the Register<Entity> event.

What I said should be pretty self explanatory.

You have some static fields of EntityType you cant initialize them statically. Which means you cant do it inline when you declare it or in a static{}.

So instead of doing it there you must do it in the registry events. If it has a Spawn Egg Associated with it you need to initialize your Entity Type in the same registry event where you register the spawn eggs.

If it doesnt have a spawn egg associated with it initialize it where you register it.
