Modding a bow

HI! I'm kinda new to modding in minecraft but I have experience with Java.

I've been looking for a tutorial on how to make a new projectile firing item with forge and wondering if anyone could post one?

Have a rather extensive mod idea based partly on this

At the Forge Documentary? I don't really understand what I'm supposed to do with it... I understand what they do but can't use it.

Well, first make your mod, then have your item implement those interfaces. (I think, I haven't done this either.)

I have all other code that I need but as I said don't really understand how to implement it.  A tutorial from someone who knew would really help
