[1.15.1] I need help trying to render a cape like layer texture on a BipedModel

Hi, I'm making a comic based mod and I've been struggling with rendering something like a cape in the chest, I would like to know how could I add this layer to my armor and make it behave like a cape

I'd be grateful for any help

Don't make capes. Mojang declared exclusivity over capes. Make literally any other cosmetic you want.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

Just wondering, when did they do that? From all I found in their Terms and Conditions, they only disallow the selling of cape cosmetics, but there's no mention of not being allowed to make mods involving them (as long as they aren't sold).

I'm eager to learn and am prone to mistakes. Don't hesitate to tell me how I can improve.

Thanks for answering

Damn, I guess my mod then will be impossible to complete, what's a batman without a cape lol, is there any other method like just to render a texture at the back of the player?

I hope we are able to use them, I really need those for my mod

I would look at how vanilla does render capes, and learn from it, and write your own renderer for it.

The elytra would also be a place to look (and IMO a batman cape is closer to elytra than a cosmetic).
