EDIT: SOLVED BY DELETING THE  .gradle DIRECTORY AND REFRESHING THE GRADLE PROJECT

Hello, I'm trying to set up a mod in 1.15.2 using IntelliJ.

To set it up, I've opened the build.gradle file from IntelliJ as a project, then ran the getIntellijRuns  from the gradle pannel, then ran the gradle build command into the terminal.

Here is a pastebin of the terminal output:

https://pastebin.com/UJqUtNHW

I believe this is the most relevant part :

* What went wrong:
Could not resolve all files for configuration ':compileClasspath'.

This is what it looks like on the gradle pannel:

When I go to File>Project Structure>Libraries, it also tells me that the mapped snapshots lib cannot be found.

I've seen a few other forum posts with the same issue, but none of them could help me solve this issue. I've tried (with no success):

-to update my JDK (1.8 to 1.12)

-to edit the mappings version field in the build.gradle file, using the latest MPCBot release

mappings channel: 'snapshot', version: '20200223-1.15.1'

I'd be really grateful if someone could help me sort this out.

Thanks for your suggestion, but unfortunately this didn't work. The issue remains even when restarting from a clean mdk, but only with forge 1.15.

However I noticed that the directory gradle is looking for does not exists:

C:/Users/HamsterFurtif/.gradle/caches/forge_gradle/bundeled_repo/net/minecraftforge/forge/1.15.2-31.1.0_mapped_snapshot_20200223-1.15.1/

But this one exists:

C:\Users\HamsterFurtif\.gradle\caches\forge_gradle\minecraft_user_repo\net\minecraftforge\forge

and contains the files gradle is looking for.  It is the one that is used by my 1.14 project, but I can see the 1.15 files were downloaded there.

I guess what I need to do is to force gradle to search in there but I have no idea how to do that. I'm also curious as to why it works fine with 1.14 but not 1.15.

Not sure what the rules are on replying to my post, sorry if I'm breaking any rule.

I've tried using the the "latest" version of the forge 1.15 mdk and it still doesn't work, the jars required are nowhere to be found.

It sounds like you interrupted a mapping download. Try this in Powershell:

Remove-Item -Recurse -Path "$Env:USERPROFILE/.gradle/caches/forge_gradle/maven_downloader/de/oceanlabs/mcp/mcp_snapshot/20200223-1.15.1"

This will delete the cached mapping zip (which is apparently corrupted) and its hash.

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.

The solution forgets to mention that you may still have a gradle daemon running. You *must* stop the daemon first, then delete the caches and try a new build. That explains why you may still be running into issues even after a refresh.

Have you tried in IntelliJ IDEA to do the Invalidate Caches / Restart under the File menu?

Could you also share the build.gradle file content?

    • Hello all. I'm currently grappling with the updateShape method in a custom class extending Block.  My code currently looks like this: The conditionals in CheckState are there to switch blockstate properties, which is working fine, as it functions correctly every time in getStateForPlacement.  The problem I'm running into is that when I update a state, the blocks seem to call CheckState with the position of the block which was changed updated last.  If I build a wall I can see the same change propagate across. My question thus is this: is updateShape sending its return to the neighbouring block?  Is each block not independently executing the updateShape method, thus inserting its own current position?  The first statement appears to be true, and the second false (each block is not independently executing the method). I have tried to fix this by saving the block's own position to a variable myPos at inception, and then feeding this in as CheckState(myPos) but this causes a worse outcome, where all blocks take the update of the first modified block, rather than just their neighbour.  This raises more questions than it answers, obviously: how is a different instance's variable propagating here?  I also tried changing it so that CheckState did not take a BlockPos, but had myPos built into the body - same problem. I have previously looked at neighbourUpdate and onNeighbourUpdate, but could not find a way to get this to work at all.  One post on here about updatePostPlacement and other methods has proven itself long superceded.  All other sources on the net seem to be out of date. Many thanks in advance for any help you might offer me, it's been several days now of trying to get this work and several weeks of generally trying to get round this roadblock.  - Sandermall
    • sorry, I might be stupid, but how do I open it? because the only options I have are too X out, copy it, which doesn't work and send crash report, which doesn't show it to me, also, sorry for taking so long.
    • Can you reproduce this with version 55.0.21? A whole lot of plant placement issues were just fixed in this PR.
    • Necro'ing that thread to ask if you found a solution ? I'm encountering the same crash on loading the world. I created the world in Creative to test my MP, went into survival to test combat, died, crashed on respawn and since then crash on loading the world. Deactivating Oculus isn't fixing it either, and I don't have Optifine (Twilight forest is incompatible)
