I have been to many servers where players spawn in a central area and there will be portals or signs that take you to different gameplays etc. What, in essence, are modders doing here? For instance; Are we simply warping to a distant place within the same world or are we changing worlds or maps entirely? ...Does Forge come into play at all here?

Thanx and Cheers.

Nope, usually bukkit or mcpc servers. Should be possible with mystcraft though.

This isn't building better software, its trying to grab a place in the commit list of a highly visible github project.

Don't PM me, I don't check this account unless I have to.

Depends on what servers you're referring to in particular, They are using BungeeCord, its a program that allows users to transparently connect to many different servers.

However, it has nothing to do with forge. As this is something thats done pre-minecraft. A separate server.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

Either that or the transporter bukkit plugin.

Thanks y'all for the feedback, and cool, I'll get to analyzing these approaches.

*I never even thought about it being a server change. That makes immediate sense on some of these servers I am referring to.
