Freezing an entity in place 1.14.4

I have a problem where my code is running a entity.setPositionAndUpdate in a loop, and it crashes whenever the loop starts. I can provide logs / code / whatever, but I can't figure out why. I am also using this to move the entity to the player to keep it at the player's spot, and it crashes then as well.

 

Update: the problem is happening in the loop, I commented out the setpos snippet and it still crashed

What type of loop is it? If you're using a while loop, don't.
