[Fabric / 1.15.2] Help with allowing Illegal Characters in Text Boxes

Featured Replies

Posted

Im very new to modding in general. I want to override text boxes ingame to allow characters that arent normally allowed to be typed.
Im not sure where to start, I setup an environment for fabric (PS: I know this is a forge forum, but I cant find a place for fabric, please show me a place if Im in the wrong area?) and got minecraft running and everything.
I havent ever worked with fabric before and I cant find a good tutorial on where to begin.
Im not looking to add new things to the game, I only want to modify the original game.

Everyone keeps telling me thats its "bad" or whatnot, but I legitimately want to change the default game... why is that so hard for other people to understand...
Im not going to use MCP because everyone also keeps telling me that MCP Reborn is bad practice... as always... and forge gives me migraines, in which I just got another migraine trying to login to this website for the 20 time because it locked my account.

Overall Ive been trying to get this to work for weeks and its driving me nuts, and nobody wants to help me with a simple modification.

Anyways, here is my current development environment: https://github.com/skylerspark/Test-Mod-Development

Because people who come here know how to program with Fabric.

Yes.

That makes sense.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
