Posted June 18, 20205 yr What is the proper/most efficient way to time things in game? In a regular program, I would probably use Executors#newSingleThreadScheduledExecutor(), but is that a good idea in Forge? In the mod I'm working on, I want something to occur after a command is executed, every X seconds with X seconds of warning. Should I subscribe to WorldTickEvent or ServerTickEvent? Or should I use MinecraftServer#registerTickable(Runnable)?
June 18, 20205 yr Create a TickEvent handler and count ticks (specifically one of the subclasses, and check the Phase). Depending on what you're counting ticks for there may be other places you'd want to hook into Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.
