Newer forge versions crashing immediately when clicking "Play"

I have been scrambling 4 different people's heads today trying to find a fix to this, to no avail. Basically, I have downloaded the newest version of forge for 1.16.1 to play with my friends on their server and as soon as I clicked play it crashed. I have tried many things to fix this and it seems that different versions like 1.15.2, 1.14, etc also crash, while older versions like 1.12.2, 1.8.9, etc don't. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    All published versions save for a handful of derps work just fine.

    Post your logs.

    Also, we only support 1.14+ on this forum so we won't help with older things.

    I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.
