BlockBreak and BlockPlace Events

These two events are needed for a lot of mods and are often added through coremods. Is there a reason why they haven't been added yet and what can be done to add them?

It's a question me and a lot of others have asked as well.

An answer and a suggestion:

A: LexManos and cpw have repeatedly stated they wish to implement their own block hooks.

S: Since this is a widely-needed feature, why not accept one of the 9001 block hook PRs first, then replace it with their own implementation when the time comes?

I remember seeing that they were planning something months ago, I wasn't sure if there was any update on it. I hope they pull something soon or let us know why they're waiting to add their own.
