[1.16.1]how can I make a custom crating block?

I want to create something with one or 2 inputs and one output, sorta like a brewing stand. However, I have not been able to find any tutorials at all that give an in depth explanation that a noob like me could understand. Can sombody help explain to me how to make a custom crafting block?

Try this example, it is quite close to what you want.  If you then look at the vanilla crafting block, you should be able to figure the rest out.

it seems to use some functions that have new names replacing them such 

func_230337_a_. what are the new names for these

You're looking at a SRG name, one that is autogenerated by the decompilation and deobfuscation process.
